Listen-and-Write

This site allows users to listen to audio excerpts and then transcribe those excerpts. The audio selections are taken from newscasts, sourced from various news organizations. Users can play back the selections in three different modes, full, quick, and blank. The full mode requires the user to type every letter of every word; the quick mode needs only the first letter of each word and then provides the remainder; and the blank mode inserts blank spaces for random words, which the user has to fill in with the correct letters. Various languages and proficiency levels are supported.

How to use it?

1- You should sign in or create a free account to use this site. You can also hace access to it using your facebook account. If you create an account, you should select the language you want for dictations.

This Blog will provide teachers with some useful ideas when teaching English and using web2.0 tools. This blog has been created for the subject  ICT in Eglish teaching at UTN/INSPT.

Why using blogs in the classroom?

Dudeney and Hockly (2008) stated that blogs provide a 'real-world' tool for learners with which to practise their written English, as well as a way of contacting learners from other parts of the world if the blog is used as part of an international exchange.

Why should teachers use blogs in the classroom?

Blogs cab be used to connect learners to other communities of learners, for example to a class in another country.
The ideas and content can be generated and created by learners, either individually or collaboratively.
